Andreas
Andreas originally comes from the Vogtland region and moved to the Ore Mountains with his wife in 1996. After building a house and taking parental leave, he decided to change careers and joined Spandauer Velours in November 2000—first as a cutter, then two years later as a machine operator in finishing.
There he worked for 18 years on a pile processing machine with a tensioning frame. In spring 2018, he took on the position of deputy department manager, and in fall 2018, the decision was finally made for him to take on the position of department manager for finished goods inspection and finishing. Encouraged by the trust placed in him by the management, he agreed to a trial period. Since 2020, he has also been responsible for shipping.
His responsibilities include production planning, scheduling shifts and vacations, managing employees, purchasing chemicals, packaging and working materials, and ensuring efficient processes and on-time deliveries.
Since 2018, he has also been one of our trainers, training warehouse specialists. As part of our “E-Team” (energy management), Andreas also regularly exchanges ideas with other department heads to improve energy efficiency at Spandauer. “You can see that things are happening and investments are being made, for example in digitalization and innovations such as the gradual replacement of machinery. There are courses and training programs such as personnel management for department heads,” says Andreas. He sees Spandauer as a solution-oriented and well-functioning company with trusting cooperation and appreciates the short distance between home and work. All of this makes Spandauer a special employer for Andreas.
Thank you, Andreas, for your commitment, your passion, and your many years of loyalty!
